Organisms limit energy expenditure in response to expected supply and demand.

Our energy expectations can be broken. Simple fact with important consequences.

Some people do not get hungry after lifting. Body expects a threat, saves energy. A miserable experience I'm sure.
Those people who are cold all the time? Same deal. Body expects to be deprived, so won't burn reserves on luxury heat.
I do ok, but I'm writing this thread because I couldn't warm up after a very cold shower. One bite of bread and I could feel everything warming up.

Would like to have a better understanding of how to correct my own sense of energy availability.
