There is a growing hunger in #America for healing; not only from ghastly #Coronavirus pandemic, but from toxicity, strife, tribalism, and dysfunction that are corroding our national community. People want government that is competent; not overreaching, but functional. ->
2. Despite the rancor on social media, many #Americans long for a return to neighborliness and a spirit of “can-do” cooperation that transcends tribalism. We see, even in these hard times, people of good will reaching out in care and innovation to each other. This is hopeful. ->
3. When the worst of the immediate #COVID crisis is over, there will be 2 competing visions: one that leads to fear, blame, rage, violence; another that speaks to hope, common decency, common sense, common good. One side will shout, the other will act—graciously, but firmly. ->
4. Look to see which voices emphasize faith, hope, neighborly cooperation vs those who appeal to dark tribalistic grievances. Who opens their hearts or who circles their wagons? Who will #Americans eventually choose to lead us forward? If we cannot unite now, can we ever?
