Honestly it’s okay to get inspiration from kpop (style, concepts, etc.) but if you’re from England, all members are white, why call it a kpop group?? Just be a girl group with English songs. Continue in the comment section on why I think this Kaachi group is a big NO: https://twitter.com/kaachiofficial/status/1250782421647269889
I think this is bad cz the korean music industry struggled a lot to be accepted in the whole music industry and was discriminated because it’s not generic western music and concepts but these girls have decided to take that and call themselves “The first kpop group in London”.
Korean idols are always hated on for literally the most ridiculous things like language, too cute, male idols are called gay cz of makeup as if it’s an insult, etc. so for a completely white group from London to come and call themselves a KPOP group is disrespectful, my opinion.
To this day, korean music industry is still being hated even though it’s so popular rn. But it’s still not accepted because kpop is still considered a genre when music shouldn’t be separated by language but by actual genres like hip hop, r&b and so on.
Therefore, this “first kpop group in London” is completely offensive to the korean music industry and they should’ve just been an English group.
And I find the fact that they used korean in their song also not okay because people are always shitting on korean music and saying “I don’t even understand it, why do I have to listen to it”. Just be either kpop cover group or if you want to make music, be an English group.
Don’t get me wrong. The girls are talented, I’m not saying they’re bad but this is so wrong towards the korean music industry and the korean language.
And I was mistaken, they’re not all white but mostly white.
If I’m wrong about anything, plz correct me.
