For people who've never read the original Spider-Verse... it's very different, way more violent, but it does feature Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Spider-Ham, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man '67, and introduced Peni Parker and... Spider-Gwen! :-O
Jason, Robbie, and Rico are the creators and visionaries behind Spider-Gwen. I had "a" Spider-Gwen in Spider-Verse... but they were the ones who developed EVERYTHING about her, her world, and that incredible, iconic look!

Wanted to give any new followers a heads up about the original Spider-Verse comic...
...they're a *very* different animal from the movie you know & love in 3 ways:
1) The villains & action are WAY more violent.
2) There are a ZILLION Spider-Men in it.
3) We kill a *LOT* of 'em.

I *did* kill Spider-Girl's dad in the MC2 Universe, but...
...I totally knew how he'd come back in the Spider-Verse sequel, and I gave that bit to Chris Gage for Spider-Gheddon.
However...
I flat out butchered the Hostess Twinkie Universe Spider-Man. And he's dead, dead, dead.

But I did kill the Spider-Man from the Capcom Fighting Universe... and ENJOYED IT.

The Spider-Verse comics-- along with being way too violent at times-- were also filled with moments of pure bat-sh*t-crazy awe and wonder, and some of my favorite I-can't-believe-they-let-me-get-away-with-it nonsense... like THIS:

One of the gags we did NOT have room for...
This talking car version of the Spider-Mobile would have come from a PIXAR CARS-type universe.
He would be able to transform into a normal car.
And THAT'S car (his secret identity) would've been...

There were a small number of Spideys from other realities that we were NOT allowed to use (mostly for legal reasons). Though we did find a way to either sneak them in and/or mention them in pages from THIS Spider-Verse short...
