I’ve been reading a lot during The Age of Quarantine! This is a Twitter thread highlighting what I've read.

PS: Send me book recommendations!
I asked @ablaze for a book recommendation and he told me to read Siddhartha. I read it in a single sitting. It was incredible, a perfect distillation of the hero’s journey that pushes you to take a voyage of your own.
How to Take Smart Notes by @soenke_ahrens is the best book I’ve ever read on the subject of both reading AND writing. If you want to make the most out of some extra free time at home, this is the one to read.
I formed a Twitter book club and @mlarson suggested we read Bartleby, The Scrivener, a short story by Herman Melville (better known for writing Moby Dick). Weird to read something 167 years old that still felt fresh. Depression! Capitalism! Been around for awhile, huh?
Another @ablaze rec! Tao: The Watercourse Way by Alan Watts. I’m pretty sure this was the first book of Watts that I’ve ever read? I’ve listened to so many of his lectures but never read his words. His spirit comes through the page just as it does the speaker. A special book.
This holiday weekend I read a wonderful book called ‘Resurrecting Easter’. It documents how Christians have thought about the resurrection by looking at how it’s been painted / represented throughout history. Guess what? A few things sure have gotten lost in translation!
Haven’t updated this thread in awhile because I’ve been reading through some very long books! Tonight I decided to read a very short one:

‘Gratitude’ by Oliver Sacks.

If you need a reminder that there is beauty in life, even when one’s time is almost up, read this book.
