Unknown Thierry Henry walked on to the biggest stage of all and was France’s top scorer in World Cup 98, he then strolled onto Euro 2000, scoring the equaliser in the semi final, winning man of the match three times including the final, France’s top scorer again.
Whilst it was a small tournament, Henry was player of the tournament in the confederations cup (No Zidane or Vieira playing) , scoring 5 goals and the golden goal in the final.

After failure in Euro 2004, Henry scored 3 in World Cup 2006 including the winner against 🇧🇷 in QFs
Henry that year was named in the FIFPRO World XI for 2006.

Despite scoring France’s only goal in Euro 2008, Henry missed the opening game and France crashed out of the tournament, he then had the controversial handball in the 2008 World cup playoffs to put France through
Henry was well past his prime in 2010 as France crashed out of WC 2010, but his legacy for France was already set. Henry retired as France’s all time top scorer and was French Player Of The Year 5 times. The point of this thread is to stop listening to deluded fans trying to
discredit the career and accomplishments that the King had, a lack of scoring in cup finals doesn’t mean you’re not clutch, Henry was a huge part of these French teams, no one is saying he’s more clutch than Drogba, but he wipes the floor in achievements for club and country. End
