there's a lot of incisive, vital writing about food and labour over on @vittleslondon. @eaterlondon have shown a commitment to celebrating diverse stories. i like @leckerpodcast too

i like @rebeccamjohnson's food writing a lot. also have a lot of time for the work being done by @ZoeAdjonyoh and @nicolepisani atm to feed those in need, as well as the writings of @Angela_Hui and @SejalSukhadwala on food/culture/labour

you should all follow @national_food who are working on building a grassroots national food service, putting control over food supplies back in the hands of the people most in need. meanwhile, @BootstrapCook is great for cheap and genuinely accessible recipes

@jennylinford is currently highlighting the plight of our country's endangered cheesemakers. @heavier_things writes beautifully about food in her tinyletter, while @racheleats writes perfect recipes and food musings over on the guardian

for writing on burmese food, check out @meemalee. in his book, @riazphillips did an outstanding job of documenting caribbean food in the uk. for easy roasting tin recipes, try @missminifer. for vibrant and exciting veg and vegan food inspo, i love @meerasodha

follow @yemisiAA for outstanding writing about nigerian food, @laurajgood for a celebration of carbs and @LopeAriyo for her amazing cookbook Hibiscus. for baking stuff, i like @bakedbybenji, @DrRayBakes, @bakingjames and @TheBoyWhoBakes

this obviously isn't everyone! and for the sake of this thread i've stuck mainly to british food writers (or those living/working here). obv the US and elsewhere is a whole separate matter! please do follow these people's work + support them. you can do better than giles coren

a few writers i didn't manage to include! @nicmillerstale has a wonderful tinyletter you should subscribe to. @eatlikeagirl has been putting together a great list of indie food producers to support rn. not words but pictures: i love newgatestudio on IG

@_Poots_'s book on grief/food is stunning. @AraweloEats is one to follow for east african (especially somali) food. i'm a big fan of @CookingForCutie's little cooking zines as well, which you can buy to help fund medical costs for her transition
