I’m beginning to wonder if it’s possible to suggest that Black children are educationally faring better at home without the necessity of comments around abuse & violence because American pathology has folx thinking only one way about us.

I’m going to continue to suggest that all kinds of children of color are safe from the white supremacy structures of school systems and it’s not necessary to tell me “yeah but they might get beat at home”.

I mean this sincerely: get all the way the fuck out of here with that.

This shows how pervasive deficit thinking is and I’ve been in enough schools to have heard “they don’t care about their children’s education”.

On repeat.
