Final feature of the evening, added a timeline tracker so you know how many in-game days have passed. This will affect what events spawn and when. I haven't done a gif because that seems boring.
First on the list for tomorrow is some kind of system to sort and store event dialogues. That's the biggest and scariest part for me as a "programmer" cause it kind of sounds like I should know what I'm doing there.
After a good nights rest, a roast dinner and a movie, I'm back at it. Taking the opportunity to review our game's design, and look at making some changes now that we have our technical tools mostly built. #ludumdare #gamedev
It can be tempting to skip stuff like this while jamming, but I think its important to (a) let ideas turn over in your head a while, and (b) take time to do some game design. Helps with scope, motivation and quality I think.
Basics of an instant messaging system are in. You get a message, it exists for a certain amount of time, then disappears if you miss it.
Art team has some awesome stuff planned. I have one more feature to go and we are Code Complete for the MVP!
