What is the size of Coronavirus?
And
What is the size of the pores / holes in an N95 mask?
The size of pores of an N95 masks is approx:
300 NANOMETERS

Initially it was thought Coronavirus was big:
400 to 500 NANOMETERS

Now, recent findings show it can be much smaller, between 60 and 140 NANOMETERS

So, can it penetrate an N95 masks?

Disclaimer: My limited research
1/1 N95 masks are 3D filters. So even if their pore size is 300 nanometers, they can stop 95% of particles smaller than 300nm
If it was a simple 2 D sieve filter then it cannot stop anything smaller than 300nm.

But 3D filters can stop particles smaller than it's pore size.
HOW?
2/3 Besides sieve action the N95 has 3 other filtration mechanisms
1) Inertial
2) Diffusion
3) Brownian Effect
The Brownian Effect is most interesting. It acts on tiny virus & trap them in N95. Gas molecules continously bombard the tiny virus making them jump around continously
3/3 As the tiny virus is passing thru an N95 they are also jumping around as they are bombarded by gas molecules, so they get trapped in the N95 fibers.
So 95% of the virus 60 nm virus gets trapped although the N95 pore size is 300 nm.

There is more.
I will try to make a video.
Continuing on yesterdays thread:
Cloth masks are good enough for us. But for doctors &nurses in ICU they need minimum N95 or better

Initially they thought Coronavirus is carried in droplets/aerosols and not airborne by itself. Now they are not ruling out that it can be airborne.
