As much as I appreciate activism, I can't help but being annoyed by some aspects of current online media activism: "holier-than-thou" attitude and us vs them strategy by demonizing all parties connected to their common "enemy".
By doing so, some activists completely alienate potential allies due to perceived mutual connection to common enemy and failure to identify who their enemies really are 💆
I've experienced this--working as a civil servant apparently gets me as much heat as the decision makers even though all we do is administrative works & analysis.
One friend refused to trust me cos I'm a part of the government & another said that I should've done something.
Sis it kinda hurts to group me together with "opportunist, morally corrupted" people you demonstrate against when my jobs are writing reports, drafting letters (to be reviewed and approved), etc 🙄
Holier-than-thou attitude may also create cliques within the movement, therefore alienating like-minded people who don't identify with any groups & risks tainting the causes into mere narcissistic pursuits.
These past few days, some renowned activists also sparked debates by calling out names without further investigating into the issue & spreading misinformation, therefore compromising their own individual accountability 🙄
I'm referring to some claims that some forms of activism were called out for being tone-deaf and self-serving, particularly voluntary works that "don't change the status quo" and instead, only catapulted individuals' status as "inspirations for other people."
Honestly I personally think that there's a grey area in ones' personal motivation in activism (whether its for others or narcissistic pursuits) and I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt & respect in choosing their own means to help other people.
...Regardless of which form of activism they shall choose.
I'm utterly disgusted by the notion that civil servants are CO-OPTED into the ruling regime when we're voiceless. Forget individual liberty, one dissenting opinion could get us sacked--yet many who fight for justice won't recognize our struggle.
Sometimes we also have to go against our personal principles, or fight back, risking our position.

Ok you might wonder why do we choose this profession in the first place? Idk probs we need to live? 🙃
Selain pegawai negeri pun, there are also some well-intended people who work closely (not co-opted into) with the system: ademicians, for example.
