•Selfless cadres, ill-equipped and ill-clothed.
•had morale to drive them on.

Kwaienda vakashinga moyo.

I think I have found the cadre leading that song. Name is Christopher Makwambeni
@RangaMberi @rangamataire @Jamwanda2 @BenParadza @BusisaMoyo
2/ The fiery cadre who seized the stage forcing Rex Nhongo (Mujuru) to walk back’s Cde Chapwititi Chehondo - real name Christopher Makwambeni.

Got a patriot to track him down.

Here is his story.

3/ Contrary to popular belief that this video was recorded in our homeland of us the Royal people of Nyashanu, Buhera at Dzapasi, Christopher Makwambeni says it was recorded in Mzingwane in 1979 during the ceasefire period.
@zanupf_patriots @hwendec @Hon_Kasukuwere
4/ This is Chris Makwambeni, aka, Cde Chapwititi Chehondo (CC) now, compared to then.

Born in 1960 in Chipinge, he was only 19 when that video was taken. He was already in charge of a detachment as a commissar.
Recall VP Chiwenga was only 23 at the time @efmatyora
5/ Cde Chris Makwambeni aka Chapwititi Chehondo crossed into Mozambique in 1975 at the tender age of 15, to fight for his country. He then went to Tanzania for training at Nachingweya Camp from 1976 -77

Remember 1975 is when Mugabe was released from prison after 10 years.
6/ They went 400 recruits in group called Sungambera.

After training in Tanzania, Cde Chris Makwambeni returned to Mozambique as a teenager, and got deployed to the front. He operated in Manica and penetrated all the way to Buhera.

He was a political commissar at the front.
7/ As a fiery revolutionary teenager on the battlefield, Cde Chapwititi Chehondo loved to wear his baseball cap in the jungles of Mozambique.

Even today he still loves to wear his baseball cap 🧢 in independent Zimbabwe👇🏽
8/ So what exactly happened on the day the video was recorded?
According to him:

During ceasefire, they were sent to an assembly point in Mzingwane. But didn’t put their weapons down.

Rex Nhongo and Peter Walls were visiting the assembly points to explain the ceasefire.
9/ In the first part of the video, a gunman asked Rex Nhongo, if integration in the military was to happen immediately.

Mujuru responded by giving a courtship analogy. It was at that point that an impatient Chapwititi rose and interrupted him with his fiery song.
10/ So why did Chris Makwambeni interrupt Rex Nhongo?

Be4 we come to that, let me pause by just explaining this to our born free youngsters.

Morari (English word morale), was key in keeping the guerrillas motivated.

The dance of that time was called KONGONYA shown here 👇🏽
