There comes a point where you must release the people in your life who refuse to fully realize you in your evolved state; people that insist on reminding you of your past shortcomings not to hold you accountable but as a way of discrediting your growth and making you feel small
Take notice of who in your life always brings up those embarrassing memories, dwells on how *insert negative descriptor* you once were, or friends who overemphasize the things you still have yet to do rather than celebrating what you’ve already managed to accomplish.
How can you expect someone to love you if they do not see you? If they only accept *or find joy* in a version of yourself that you worked so hard to transcend?
Protecting your peace. Protecting your growth. Honoring your transformations and the pain that catalyzed them.Remaining accountable and caring to the people that are present and receptive rather than trying to be seen by those determined to misunderstand you. That is what matters
