To start. Most of these stars have described their Disney peers as basically their version of a high school classmate. So it’s a safe assumption that ALOT of their songs were written about each other. So I’m going to try to only name songs that were confirmed/blatantly obvious.

Once Upon A Time: Disney had just started seeing that DCOM Musicals sell a lot of stuff for them. So they put the Cheetah Girls on tour. Opening acts included Aly and AJ and the Jonas Brothers.

Long story short AJ and Joe Jonas date for roughly a year and were each other’s first kiss. Oh and “Flattery” and “Closure” were written about Joe Jonas.

Recently Aly and AJ denied that Potential Breakup Song was about Joe Jonas

Moving on. Miley Cyrus (that best of both worlds bitch) meets Nick Jonas (that year 3000 twink) at a charity event and they start talking/ dating or whatever you wanna call it when preteens get hard for each other.

They start dating and Disney sees an opportunity. They put the Jonas Brothers on an episode of Hannah Montana which cements Miley and Nick as the new Britney and Justin.

#Niley break up 5 months after going public with their relationship. Realistically they probably dated longer than that and seeing as they were 8th or 9th graders at the time, it probably felt more serious to them.

The Jonas Brothers have auditions for their sitcom where they meet Demi. Disney ends up giving the part to Chelsea Kane. Joe is later linked to Chelsea. She also inspires the Summer Set’s bop “Chelsea”.

Joe was also rumored to have dated Brenda Song.

Camp Rock happens.
Demi goes on tour with the JoBros and they help co-write a lot of her debut album with her.

To be very clear here. Nick and Miley dating, Joe and Demi dating and Selena and Demi being BFFs since their Barney days was Uncle Walt’s money making wet dream come true.

Disney is marketing Demi and Selena’s friendship into a movie Princess Protection Program and the movie’s main song “One And The Same”. They also release Demi’s song “Gift Of A Friend” (about Selena) as a single for a Tinkerbell movie.

It’s 2008 so Miley, Demi and the Jonas Brothers are obviously forced to do press together because they were the main acts on Disney Channel. This was also the time Nick started dating Selena Gomez.

Selena Gomez got started on the Disney Channel when she was cast as the lead in a Lizzie McGuire spin off as Miranda’s younger sister but that didn’t happen and we got Wizards of Waverly Place instead. #witchy

Selena does a stint on the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She ends up having her first kiss ever with Dylan’s character on the episode. Cole Sprouse was her celebrity crush at the time.

Before Wizards, Selena also guests on Hannah Montana and we get the most iconic scene of the entire series.

Selena and Nick date for roughly a year. But are forced to be secretive about their entire relationship. All the hard evidence says it’s Disney’s fault but Selena seems to put the blame on Nick sooooo

Selena starts her music career on Another Cinderella Story (Hilary’s legacy) where she stars with Drew Seeley who was the singing voice for Troy Bolton in the first High school musical and played Troy on the HSM tour.

After a feature on a Forever the Sickest Kids song, Selena dropped her debut album. As a dig at Nick and Disney for making her hide her relationship with Nick, she named it “Kiss and Tell”.

Selena’s songs about Nick: “Falling Down”, “Year Without Rain”, “I Don’t Miss You At All”, “Crush”

Tbh I could easily make a case for every song on this album being about Nick.

Especially “Stop and Erase” where she sings about a guy having a punchable face.

Nick’s songs about Selena: “Give Love A Try”, “Stay”, “Rose Garden”, “Last Time Around”, “Burnin Up”

Selena also has a song “I Won’t Apologize” about how Nick (and probably Disney) wanted her to be like Miley.

NOW THIS had the potential to become Hilary VS Lindsay 2.0 but this isn’t Disney’s PR people’s first Hoe Down Throw Down.

So Miley’s debut album (away from Hannah) “Breakout” comes out with a handful of songs written about Nick. The most glaring one being “7 Things”. She’s wearing Nick’s dog tag in the video.

Speaking of love triangles, there was a lot of drama around Taylor Swift, Joe and Demi. Here’s my separate thread on that.

While Joe was in a diss track war with Taylor Swift, Nick was writing “Before The Storm” with Miley. Basically the song is like “yo we broke up but I miss you ”

At some point Selena and Nick have one of their many breakups and Selena tweets this ICONIC gem.

So Miley dates Liam for four years and in 2012 they get engaged. That same year the Jonas Brothers attempt a comeback.

Nick drops a VERY pointed/ messy/ my favorite Jonas Brothers’ song about not wanting Miley to get married because he wants to try things again with her.

In 2015 Demi and Nick come out with a joint record label “Safehouse Records”. The label only ever signs the two of them and Chord Overstreet from Glee.

Selena drops the song “Good For You” as the first single from her first album away from Disney.

Nick drops the song “Area Code” that references Selena’s “Good For You.” A month after seeing her at an event.

2016 comes around and Demi and Nick coheadline their Future Now tour with a weird Divergent/ Hunger Games vibe for the promo photos. As a #Niley stan I’m gonna be delusional and reach and say this was a dig at Liam.

Demi is writing her album and pens two songs about Nick, “Ruin The Friendship” and “Only Forever.” She sends the songs to him. He had written a song about Demi already and replied back to her with it.

Most fan theories think that song was either “The Difference” or “Under You”

Demi later overdoses and Nick tweets this. This is the last time either speaks about the other publicly.

Btw: I didn’t want to mention any of Demi’s demons at all because it seemed disrespectful for the tone of this thread but this moment was necessary to include.

Demi and the Jonas’ have a major falling out and Demi wasn’t invited to Joe or Nick’s weddings. No one knows why and there’s not a common theory on what happened. BUT We know they were still on good terms after Demi released the songs about Nick because of her interview on Ellen.

Currently all three Jonas Brothers and the Bonus Jonas follow Demi on Instagram so I’m thinking she was the one who chose to cut ties.

Demi drops the sequel to “This Is Me” called “I love me” and references the Jonas Brothers twice in the music video.

Recently Demi goes on Miley’s Instagram show and have a small exchange that (many people believe) implies they hooked up during their Disney days. This makes me lowkey think (hope) “Cool For The Summer” is about Miley.

Selena also goes on Miley’s show and says “I’ve always been a fan of your’s. I think you’re one of the greatest singers ever” about Miley.

This entire group of stars set the standard for the teen, tween and children’s media market. We truly haven’t had group of celebrities since them. They were the Power House of the House of Mouse and they were all basically fucking.
