So, some of those following me may wonder why I’m so concerned about British politics and in particular the way the UK govt is handling #COVID19

I’ve been a frequent visitor in the UK for 13–14 years and in those years I’ve forged many a strong friendship ❤️

1/
Naturally I’m greatly concerned about the wellbeing of my UK friends during this #COVID19 pandemic.

These are people who have been there for me when I’ve been through some rough patches, they’re like family to me.

2/
Additionally my son met a lovely English lass online a few years back, and even though they’ve had to face a few road bumps, they are very much in love. And hope to build a future together.

Over the years she’s become very dear to me.

/3
During this past year, I’ve also connected with a great deal of interesting and likeminded Brits here on Twitter, many of whom I’ve come to know fairly well.

Many of their tweets during #COVID19 are heartbreaking 💔

/4
Then there’s obviously the fact that I’m a leftie 🚩 a trade union activist and pro EU 🇪🇺, which is why a conservative govt will never sit well with me.

At the end of the day, Tories are working for the 1% NOT for you and me.

#TheresPowerInAUnion ✊

So when #COVID19 swept across Europe, and many countries went into lockdown but the UK faffed about, too concerned with revenue of businesses and not so concerned with deaths among the rabble, …

/6
… I watched in equal measures of shock and horror how the UK was very much “business as usual” under the Tories.

While we here Denmark went into full lockdown (led by a social democratic govt).

/7
And when the UK finally went into lockdown, there were still harrowing pictures online of crowded tube stations and most recently a crowd in London clapping for the NHS, so much for #SocialDistancing

All the while the number of #COVID19 deaths were and still are rising.

/8
And that number … well that may not even be the actual number of deaths caused by #COVID19.

Because in the midst of this crisis, the blasted Tories are still not being truthful (I’m not surprised, are you?).

One thing that all nations have in common in this fight against #COVID19 is the global shortage of #PPE.

Except the UK govt seems to be claiming that they have, in fact, got plenty. There are just a few minor issues with logistics and distribution 🤔

Oh, and the Tories also have the audacity to claim that the AMAZING health workers who are risking THEIR LIVES by being exposed to massive viral loads 🦠 of #COVID19 are using to much #PPE and essentially it’s their fault.

/11
And then there’s testing … don’t get me started.

The Tories keep saying meaningless phrases about “ramping up” testing for #COVID19. Or something along those lines.

But it’s not happening. Not. At. All.

/12
A few weeks ago we had supply issues for #COVID19 tests in DK. It’s not unthinkable that the same thing could happen elsewhere.

I’m not saying that’s the case in the UK.

What I am saying is, if that if that’s the case …
… would you trust the Tories to tell the truth? 🤔

/14
I’m equally worried and angry for all of you due to this insane mix of #COVID19 + Tory incompetence.

Those I know so very well and those I’ve only briefly encountered here on Twitter.

Because all of you are REAL people, with REAL lives.
You all MATTER! You all have WORTH!

/16
And when this is all over, please #HoldThemToAccount

#COVID19 may be the cause of many deaths, but the Tories stood idly by, rather than protecting the British people.

Stay safe. Stay healthy 🖖
