Please add to these rapidly evolving “laws” of 'Covidisation' of research:

1. Every Covid-19 study will attract another study with equally opposing conclusions.

2. The longer the duration of lockdown, the greater the risk of writing a paper on Covid-19.
3. The probability of an academic working on Covid-19 is directly proportional to funding available, duration of self-isolation, and degree of boredom.
4. Every academic will continue their regular research unless compelled to change their direction by the action of an external force ( #COVID).
5. Sooner or later, every clinical trialist will launch a randomized controlled trial on #Hydroxycloroquine
6. All research questions on Covid-19 can & will be answered by artificial (not real) intelligence.
7. All principles of rigorous medical research and evidence-based medicine can be suspended with no penalty during a pandemic.
8. During pandemics, politicians are better at science communication than scientists.
9. During pandemics, no training in epidemiology & infectious diseases is required to publish epidemiological studies on Covid-19.
10. Eventually, 100% of research funding will be dedicated to Covid-19. All other research will need to justify their relevance.
11. If you torture the data hard enough, you can find a correlation between Covid-19 and:
a. BCG
b. MMR
c. Bubble tea
d. Malaria endemicity
e. ABO blood group
f. Religion
g. Distance from Wuhan
h. Warm weather
i. 5G technology
j. Ibuprofen
k. Vitamin D.... (To be added)
12. Eventually, all editors will forget how to handle manuscripts that are not on Covid-19. New editors will need to be hired for them.
13. A good Tweet (on #hydroxychroloquine) is worth a thousand studies.
14. The pandemic has proven that all (mathematical) models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others.
15. Basic Excel knowledge meets all requirements for putting out mathematical models.
16. 100% of pre-prints will get published in peer-reviewed journals. Only if they are on Covid-19.
17. During pandemics, science is a luxury that the world cannot wait for.
18. Everyone with (or without) coding skills has already developed an app on Covid-19. But don't let that stop you.
19. Between pre-prints, social and media hype, peer-review is no longer necessary in science.
20. Every academic has their price: grant funding.
