he said he was sorry he and hxm hadn't been on many shows together; they could've (i'm guessing they were invited) but bc hxm is working and yz's been busy it just hasn't worked out.

he decided to speak in a beijing accent since the event was to promote <begonia>

hxm connected! said he'd waited for yz to approve of him for a long time lmao. apparently neither of them had used this app before but yz knew it was popular with a lot of anime seiyuu/VAs. hxm said 'oh like you!' and yz replied 'I'M NOT A VA i'm an actor like you!!!'

hxm was sad that a lot of scenes ended up being cut. yz replied that they should be thankful the drama was even airing.

there's a scene where they're holding hands that was rly long in the initial cut where sxr was trying to get cft to let go and cft wouldn't let go.

in the final cut they shortened it a lot so sxr immediately shakes of cft's hand. yz said that's the beauty of art: there will always be regrets. he then told hxm to be careful of what he's saying or their broadcast will be cut off lmao

hxm was like really? and yz was like yeah, we're not used to live streaming but if you watch a lot of live streams you'll see a ton of streamers get cut off. but he then said they'd probably be ok because he felt <begonia>'s viewers were smart/understanding

there's a few other scenes hxm also mentioned he was sad were cut and yz said there's not much they can do about it; they have to consider the audience + the possibility of the scenes being misinterpreted.

yz then asked him whether he was still chewing on vegetables leaves. hxm said for every proper meal he has, he has to chew on vegetables for a bit to make up for it. yz said he should ask tao-ge (?) to buy him some meat to eat, it's no good if you can't even eat meat

hxm said if you only eat meat you'll be constipated/have dry poop lsdkjflasdjf and yz was like YOU!!!!! then drink some more water!!! (screaming, i don't think that's how it works yz)

yz asked hxm if he read the barrage comments and hxm said yeah, it was his first time reading barrage comments. he was watching with the director, and the director wanted to see fans' responses (and whether they were planning to send him razors sldfksldjf)

hxm was kinda afraid to at first because he thought he'd be criticized but actually there were a lot of complimentary ones. yz said he was really happy whenever he saw good comments about hxm awww. but hxm said there were still comments mindlessly hating on him

yz said there isn't much you can do about those. there're people who didn't even watch the show who said the acting was bad.

the situation that most amazed him was when the last 13 episodes were released at once for a fee. yz bought them the moment they came out and went straight to the last episode, and ALREADY there were hate comments.

yz was like, my dude, you spent the money, didn't even watch the show, and are sending hate comments??? what's the point?? hxm said it's like the line in <begonia>: half the money spent on a ticket is to watch you on stage, the other half is to use you as a punching bag

yz said his favorite part of <begonia> is cft's monologue at the end of epiosde 5 into the start of episode 6. hxm quoted a portion of the monologue + said it's true: you can't choose where you're born or who you meet. you can only try your best within the limits of your fate

yz said truthfully he's really envious of cft/sxr's relationship. cft's life is pretty tragic, starting from chacha'er and up to himself, so cft admires sxr for living the way he wishes he could.

hxm said this is probably true of most people. everyone wants to just say what's on their mind but most people hold themselves back.
yz said what he liked most is that in the end, sxr sacrifices a lot for cft as well. and that he's clearly thankful for having met him

if it wasn't for cft, sxr probably would never have thought through the situation with jiang mengping (his shijie). hxm said yeah their relationship was such that they influenced each other

hxm mentioned the reason why the lines from <begonia> left such a deep impression on him was because he felt he and cft were really similar, so hxm genuinely believed a lot of the lines he was saying as cft; two had become one, he really WAS cft and cft was him

next question: would they want to try out each other's roles? hxm said at the start of filming he did, but by the end of filming yz was the perfect sxr to him. yz said it was the same for him

when yz first started acting, he thought if he read enough books and experienced enough things he could play ANY role but over time he's realized that no matter what people have limits. he+hxm had discussed too: sure you could act as that character, but would it be good?

hxm said he agreed—even the person who went to pick up pigs from sxr's house (?) did an amazing job, and went on to say that a good drama requires not just good leads, but for everyone to be buy in and put their best effort

he mentioned being really pleased when he saw a review complimenting them on the detail and accuracy of the costumes, and said that if they didn't have that level of caring + detail they wouldn't be here today. especially since viewers nowadays will notice everything

hxm said it was the scene where yz was beating him up sldfjalsdjfsdf. he mentioned that the scene seemed way funnier while filming; yz said it was because most of it was cut, which then got them back onto a bunch of scenes that were cut (this time, mostly funny scenes)

hxm again expressing his disappointment at the number of scenes that were cut, esp a few really emotional scenes between cft/sxr were cut including 回忆杀 (? guessing this is a famous scene in the novel).

yz again assuring him that the fans who watched all understand and that they aren't just chasing after "candy/fluff". mentioning that he was really impressed by how all the video edits/reviews he'd seen showed that their viewers were all very educated/literary

hxm mentioned they did that scene in one shot because it was too exhausting for the staff to carry the snow machine behind him. he mentioned one of the crying scenes was also done in one take because it's hard to cry more than once and make it good

if you can get it right the first time, the emotion there is most real because you're genuinely reacting, but afterwards you start anticipating and pre-empting, which means it's never quite as good

hxm said he usually has to lie down after crying scenes bc he feels empty and yz agreed they're tough on you. hxm said he was really impressed by yz's performance of one of sxr's major crying scenes (哭灵). yz said it was probably the hardest scene for him to act since debut

yz grabbed cft's photo, held it for a really long time, and when he told the director he was ready they pointed all the cameras at him and he did the scene in one shot. afterwards he was basically in a total daze.
