Today marks 2 months since I’ve been back in Korea after being home for three weeks and boy has it been a rollercoaster!

So let’s rewind a bit. My previous contract ended the 31st of January but I had used my remaining vacation days to finish early. My last day at work was the 17th and I used the remainder of the time to pack my stuff, move out and partied in Seoul before going home on the 25th.

So on the 23rd of January was when they reported the first case of the Rona but no one really panicked and it was pretty much business as usual.
Took a flight home on the 25th and had a connecting flight in Addis Ababa.

My flight from Addis Ababa to Joburg had passengers from Shanghai on it. They made up about 50% of the passengers and now I’m PANICKING! I’m like hopefully we’ll get tested or screened at OR Tambo. None of this happened!
Anyway I enjoy my 3 weeks in SA and I arrive back in korea

On the 17th of Feb and now I’m seeing masks everywhere! It felt like I was in one of those apocalypse movies and I was questioning whether it was a good idea coming back. The worst was yet to come, the number of cases in Korea went from 20 when I landed to 1729 ten days later.

I was okay on the outside but lowkey panicking on the inside and that’s how I got into a relationship by mistake!

So what happened was that I met this girl sometime around September at Thursday Party
We started hanging out and even though she was cute, I didn’t see her as anything more than a friend. My heart was somewhere else. I thought she felt the same until the New Year’s Day party!

I had mentioned that I’ll be with some friends at New Year’s Eve party and she said wanted to join and I’m like cool! We had and whatever and at the end of the night she kisses me unprovoked. I knew she wasn’t drunk so it was definitely intentional

She’d then frequently contact me more than usual but I’d just brush it off. Anyway a few weeks later around the the end of February, I move into my new apartment. She then mentions that she wants to visit my place and I’m like sure!
We kiss and cuddle but nothing beyond that.

She stays the night and the next day she’s on a call with a friend. My korean is not that good but I could decipher that she was telling her friend that she slept over at her boyfriend’s place.
Boyfriend?!?

So I ask her. Boyfriend? She’s like yeah! “You like me and I like you”

I agree to give it a try. And now because we’re in Quarantine and I haven’t been going to work, it somar becomes a vat en sit situation! That’s when things went pear shaped!

Yoh yoh I’ve never been a situation where someone wants to talk to you ALL THE TIME!

Every 5 minutes it was
“What you thinking”
“Lemme see”
“Talk to me”
“You have nothing to say? Oh I think you don’t like me”

My favourite line was “Choose! it’s me or Netflix”

I was truly in hell and constantly tired! Last week I finally ended things.
Anyway home girl introduced me to some cool spots that I will take my crush to!
