FF7R (and having extra time on my hands) has me feeling like now is the time to play some classic JRPGs I’ve missed out on

Starting off with FFX and am going to thread this for collected thoughts while playing 💫
My only knowledge of FFX is the Tidus laugh and hazy childhood memories of playing FFX-2 sooooo pretty much going in with nothing

Already like Tidus’ energy quite a bit and the immediate religious themes/penance have me intrigued
Ok, I just met Yuna and my love for her from playing X-2 as a kid immediately came back
Also appreciating how in this world everyone is very pro nap
Lulu when doing a water attack: “anyone thirsty?”

Truly dialogue ahead of its time 💦
Blitzball tutorials
Happy to announce that I’ve experienced the Tidus laugh firsthand
The Djose highroad music is perfect after that last encounter with Sin gd
Barthello is founder of the Sir Auron fan club
Happy to report I’ve been struck by lightning in the thunder plains every single time!
Ok, so I am about 18 hours into FFX and I'm having a time

I really appreciate the parties willingness to pick each other up and how the story highlights these small moments of connection between members, especially after personal/group events that further weigh on everyone
The weight of facing Sin and the fact it'll only bring a short respite really feeds into the group's exhaustion but also how they support one another

The long roads feel draining at points in a way that I think lends well to this feeling from the player's perspective too
Can’t wait to watch Wakka’s religiously-driven hate get completely torn apart
I hate Seymour
WAIT how did Tromell get the sphere??!?!!? At WHAT POINT did he snag that?!!?!

I am....
*Al Bhed destroy home*
Wakka: Why so sad Rikku? It was just like happy fireworks!
Ok wow the wedding crash cutscene is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
