Thread on Clyde Edwards-Helaire
Clyde Edwards-Helaire has elite cutting ability. He has really nice jump cuts and spin moves to make defenders miss in tight areas.
Clyde turns a tackle for loss into a modest gain with his elusiveness.
Again same thing except with a spin move for the touchdown.
The only downside to Edwards-Helaire is his long speed. He has really great burst, but his top speed is average.
Clyde is not just an jittery, elusive back. He has some pretty nice power to his game as well.
Stiff arms his way out of the tackle for the first down.
He has a really low center of gravity that allows him to maintain his balance through contact.
Look at Clyde lower his shoulder for the first down.
If you have time, watch his game against Bama this year. He put on a show.
This play is where the long speed comes into play. Really nice cutting ability and burst to get to the open field, but he doesn't have the long speed to finish this run off. Personally, not a huge deal to me.
His lateral quickness is insane. Watch him side shuffle until he finds an opening.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire projects as a complete, three down back in the next level.

He served as almost a safety valve for Joe Burrow this season. Just dump it off to Clyde and let him gain his easy yards.
Edwards-Helaire is one of the best receiving backs in this draft class. He runs really crisp routes and is smooth after the catch. A potential mismatch for linebackers.
Clyde almost always makes the first man miss.
Runs up field towards the corner and catches this ball down the field.
Very solid hands for a running back.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire reminds me a lot of New England Patriots Dion Lewis. I think his skillset projects really well to the NFL. There isn't a team in the NFL that couldn't use his. His long speed is the only thing that is preventing me from giving him a first round value.
