I don't begrudge Pelosi her immense wealth or her very expensive tastes. Good for her. But we all know that if a Republican were doing exactly this, under these exact circumstances (with partisan dynamics reversed), the uproar over the optics would be unholy and deafening.

(Also, let's be real: GOP leaders wouldn't be offered cutesy puff interviews about chocolate on late night shows during a national crisis, especially if they were actively holding up bipartisan relief efforts)
