Today we'd like to share a thread of the music that inspired the sounds of #TheTower
The initial spark for the music came from the fantastic soundtrack to @celeste_game by the incredible @kuraine. The game and it's music continues to be a huge influence on our story and its music.

It's also just a very good game!
We were also massively inspired by the work of @DISASTERPEACEUS, in particular the score to the brilliant 'Hyper Light Drifter'

The feel of this game and its score was possibly the main influence on the tone of The Tower.
We should also say here that this video by @8bitMusicTheory was also a big breakthrough for us when it came to capturing the mood of the music we wanted to bring to The Tower, and the channel continues to give us a musical education...through video games
Possibly the biggest musical influence on The Tower was the work of @ryuichisakamoto, his albums 'Playing The Piano' and 'async' both had a huge impact on the sound of The Tower.

We have a Sakamoto poster in the studio and he remains a musical hero.
There's also a big @pinkfloyd influence on the music, 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' was a repeat listen during the creation of the series, and the music for the finale began as a transcription of 'Great Gig In The Sky'
Pink Floyd also helped inform us on how to do a concept album right, both 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Dark Side of The Moon' formed the background listening to the writing and scoring process of The Tower
If you've enjoyed The Tower, we think you'll enjoy everything we've talked about here.

If you enjoy any of the music we listed, then you might enjoy our little audio fiction concept album #TheTower, available from our bandcamp, or as a podcast http://tincanaudio.bandcamp.com
