If there’s one thing I think we all need is another person doing a 30 Day Challenge. So here’s a film one.

Day 1: This changes constantly. I’ll say Raiders of The Lost Ark.

Day 2: The Godfather Part 2

Day 4: Favourite Horror Film

Day 5: Favourite Drama:

Day 06: Favourite comedy film (I found this ridiculously difficult, and there are like 5 other films drawing with this)

Day 07: A movie that makes you happy.

Day 08: A film that makes you sad. (Fair to say this BROKE me.)

Day 09: A film you know practically the whole script of (I watched this a LOT in my late teens/early twenties).

Day 10: Favourite Director. This one is tricky, ‘cos I don’t particularly have one. I have a ton who I generally love their work, but I struggled to pick one. Going with Guillermo del Toro, just ‘cos his hit rate is great and I love his art direction.

Day 11: Your favourite film from your childhood. One of many. Ny gran had it taped off the tv and I used to watch it endlessly.

Day 12: Your favourite animated film.

A recent one, but it not only manages to look utterly stunning whilst casually reinventing what animation can do, it is also hands down EASILY the best Spider-Man film ever made.

Day 13: A film you used to love but now hate: I wouldn’t say I loved this, or that I hate it now, but I enjoyed it and didn’t really understand why it was getting so much criticism (except for that Bane voice). But the plot really doesn’t hold to scrutiny at all. Weakest of the 3

Day 14: Favourite Quote From a Film: I can’t pick just one, so here’s 3:

Day 15: First Film You Saw in Theatres: I remember the trip more than the film (I’d have been 4).

Day 16: The Last Film You Saw in Theatres.

Day 17: The Best Film You Saw in The Last Year

Day 18: A Film That Disappointed You.
Hotel Artemis.
Loved the look of the cast, the aesthetic, the setting seemed really interesting...none of it really gelled. It wasn’t bad, just a little forgettable (I had to google to find the name it was that forgettable).

Day 19: Your favourite actor. I don’t really have favourite actors weirdly, so for this I’m just going to pick someone I’ve loved in everything and want to see more of. Lakeith Stanfield.

Day 20: I know I said I don’t really have favourite actors, but Saoirse Ronan immediately came into my head when I thought of this one.

Day 21: The most overrated film. The Revenant. Beautiful looking film, I just prefer a bit more plot.

Day 22: The Most Underrated Film. Went with two of the most underrated films of the last few years: The Girl With All The Gifts and Your Name.

Day 23: Your Favourite Character From Any Film

Day 24: Favourite Documentary. I’ve seen embarrassingly few documentaries. I’ve always liked Mark Kermode’s quote that a good documentary will make you really interested in a subject you know nothing about or don’t care about. That was definitely the case with this.

Day 25: A Movie No One Would Expect You To Love.
People always seem surprised that I like Mean Girls, which is daft because Mean Girls is fuckin hilarious.

Day 26: A Film That’s A Guilty Pleasure. Pretty much any of the “...has fallen” films Gerry Butler has done. They’re objectively terrible, and woefully outdated but I found them really (mostly unintentionally) funny.

Day 27: Favourite Classic Movie. Casablanca. Me and Susanne watch this ever year (shout out to The Maltese Falcon as well).

Day 28: Film With The Best Soundtrack. I had to pick two...

Day 29: A Film That Changed Your Opinion on Something. It Follows. I know I’ve had it already, but this is the film that made me reassess horror films. This got me going back through horror classics and looking for new horror coming out.

Day 30: Your Least Favourite Film: There are only two films where I’ve seriously considered walking out the cinema because they were just SO bad. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the anomination that is A Million Ways to Die in The West (which Theron is far too good for).
