Sinophobia is at its peak at the moment! I'm no fan of Chinese governance system nor its geoeconomic model which seems to be pushing it's belt and road project partners in to debt! But I am constantly reminded of a conversation I had with a well known German academic!

He says "China's economic rise and it's techno-military might doesn't scare him, since it's less interventionist and less violent outside Chinese borders". On the contrary, he says he is more concerned about American led world order which caused war after war.

If Huawei's 5g is a threat to data security and privacy and so is AT&T and other dozens of pentagon backed cybertech firms! So it hardly matters even if China overtakes USA in every aspect of global influence!
