i’m feeling really inept

loneliness is what i’ve been trying to desctibe for years now on here and on my blog

the biggest response (which indicates understanding to me) is when i write about not being able to remember the last time i’ve been held or hugged

writing is hard

why do you think those in a loving marriage live longer?

what do you think is depressing for seniors being put in a home?

just losing their independence?

they are alone!

besides the obvious, loneliness is what makes being a survivor / victim of ipv so fucking hard!

besides the obvious, loneliness is what makes being a single mom so hard

so ya, if it’s only been weeks, then i guess you have some idea of how hard it is to be lonely bc of things in your life outside of your control

like being abused, where you live, how much money your family has, the opportunities society has available to you to lift yourself up

and just bc we deserve something doesn’t mean it’s a ‘right’

we all deserve to be loved, held, treated with dignity and respect

we all deserve to live in a world where all of our needs can be met

but that is not the world we live in

& guess what? it’s not bc of ‘other people’

each of us makes the choice to keep our world this way when we either do something to take away another’s met needs

AND when we LOOK AWAY or DO NOTHING when we witness others taking away the met needs / ability for another’s needs to be met

THIS is why having privilege (btw we EACH have some) and not using it to help others is such a tragedy

not using our privilege to help others is a choice we make

a clear action

we all deserve better
