People need to learn from this experience. Hopefully what we've started to wrap our heads around is that Human Rights are often social privileges
This #lockdown has hopefully opened peoples eyes to the grim reality that, even though we always harp on about human rights, we've stood by and watched them get turned into privileges.
Safety, security, access to food and shelter...these things have been commoditised to the point that they are reserved for a privileged few
This is hardly news, it's always been the case, but now that were being faced with a situation whereby 99.99% of people are being impacted in some form, let's all take a moment to reflect, be appreciative for the things we have.
The fear and uncertainty, the send of despair a lot of people are facing now because of the #lockdown has BEEEEEN the daily reality for so many people for so long.
Nobody is saying anybody must apologize for being able to live life without fear of poverty or starvation or access to adequate medical care. LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE. But please people, PLEASE when this #lockdown is over have the same energy of solidarity!!!
Let's use this as a springboard to see the positive opportunities, to each do our own part and exercise of privilege to balance the scales. The "but it doesnt apply to me" mentality must go out the window, because one day ( as #Covid_19 has shown us) it might.. #FoodForThought
