When I was in Primary school (p5&6) to be precise, my school was a stone throw from my house.

My mom would make us wake up by 6:15 ish and make sure we’re ready to leave home before 7am.

By 7am, I’d then walk to school.

This is a story of how motor jam Egungun! [A Thread].

As per sharp guy now, I’d walk to school everyday. Till this new guy called Chisom entered my class. He lived very close to my house.

So instead of going to school straight, I’d head to his house first.

At first, I’d get there, and he’d come out and we’d go to school

Eventuarry, we’d stay back to watch early morning STV cartoons... it was usually biker mice from mars...

Then we’d go to school.

Soon, we started pinching money from the house to go to school. We’d pinch 2h, sometimes 5h! Then we’d get to school and FLEX!

I mean sausage was like 20 or 30 bucks then. So with 5h, you can declare sausage for all the daughters of eve in the class.

Then you can decide to show chizoba, who refused to talk you, pepper. You buy for everyone except Chizobs.

Life was Good!

Till one day.

I went to Chisom’s house, as per norms now. We are toblerone, watched over powered mutant mice, and played some extra before heading to school.

But on this particular day, satan has our time.

So we got to school and realized that there was pandemonium on the assembly ground.

The lord then said to my lord, “son what is going on?!”

Alas, we ran to see the gist that was unfolding now!

That was when I saw my mother.

QUEEN MOTHER OGWE herself in the center of the pandemonium, shouting WHERE IS MY SON!”

So what happened was that I left home without my food flask, because I was rushing to go and watch cartoon. Then the queen mother decided to bring it for her cartoon loving son. On getting to the school, omo her son was not there... so imagine the wahala.

As they were shouting and all, I wanted to sneak upstairs and make it look like I had been upstairs all along...

Brethren, I got to the staircase when Mr Jacob saw me and shouted “Ogwe!”

He took me to the play ground.

I saw my mother
