3) The salient point in the paper is as follows:
“The same sequences are found in a variant called BetaCoV/bat/Yunnan/RaTG13/2013, which had been found ‘in the wild’ in bats.”

4) In other words the Chinese are saying that the SARS-CoV-2 originated in the wild because a very similar strain was found in bats in 2013.
Thus it is a missing link or step between say SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 and hence natural mutation accounts for this otherwise massive leap.

5) Trouble is this paper was published on 23rd January 2020
This intermediate virus had never been acknowledged or published beforehand
So a hugely unique and potentially dangerous virus was NEVER announced until AFTER the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic was in full steam

6) Furthermore the 2013 virus was ONLY kept at the Wuhan BL4 Laboratory.
The motive for Wuhan to make up such a “natural” intermediate virus is obvious.

7) So I think this is the crux of the US Military thinking in not being able to conclusively call it a man-made virus
It depends on the veracity of the Wuhan Lab
