A positive story to start the day, since we don’t celebrate these things enough on social media: One of the young people we support - a talented designer - came from the Democratic Republic of Congo two years ago to join his father in London, fleeing political persecution. 1/
Since he's lived here in London he's hugely struggled to prove his asylum case to the Home Office, been legally unable to work, and suffered from severe depression. But today he is over the moon - a judge granted him asylum at his appeal! He’s in shock and unbelievably happy. 2/
He can now start building a life based on new freedoms - the ability to work, no threat of deportation, he can stay with his family. His new journey won’t be easy given his past, and how difficult life in London has been so far. But it’s the start on a new path of hope. 3/
