I cannot imagine any other country in the world talking like this and being taken seriously.
Seriously, this is the real world, and it's really awful right now.
It's like the CCP is living in an alternate universe where we somehow need bland statements and movie quotes.
That's ignoring the deflection of the fact that Chinese diplomats have been scrutinized in Thailand, Nigeria, and Kazakhstan in the last week alone.
I know, that's the point of GT by the way, to be Jingoist and stir things up. I get it, I really do. I just fundamentally disagree with these antics and think we should take the CCP less serious because of it.

There's no place for Jingoism in this world.
I think this also reflects a domestic sharpening of the party lines. Similarly to what happened with the tiger and flies campaign, I think many politicians, diplomats, academics, and journalists feel a need to reaffirm their belief in the system.
I guarantee that professors at my university will draw more distinct lines in the sand on issues important to the party state after COVID-19. This will be especially so for discussions on what happened in Wuhan.

Some professors might struggle with their personal feelings here.
