Doing some digging and holy crap, Ossiarch got about as screwed as the Beasts of Chaos did when it comes to allies (but even then BoC have A faction they can take as allies), and looking at the Cities of Sigmar, my biggest criticism for Age of Sigmar becomes VERY apparent in,
that the various Stormhosts, etc., for each of the Factions have the word MUST attached to certain things, this really kills wanting to take the benefits of let's say the Hammers of Sigmar since your forced to take things you otherwise don't want to if you go by rules as written,
like for instance the Doombull that leads my BoC army, doesn't have any Great herd since it'd actually be WEAKER with one despite the boons they give, like I heard they we're removing the "RP" rules like apparently with Sigvald you had to have a mirror with you just to make use,
of one of his traits, this is the other thing that should be removed is the MUST requirements like if I grab my Nids I choose to play Kronos (the BEST Hivefleet don't @ me) I'm not forced to take a certain Warlord trait or a certain Relic, like the idea that your forced to take,
certain things based of the Stormhost, Great Herd, etc., you choose is just flat out stupid just like not being able to take allies, since there are so many things factions like Ossiarch and BoC could do, but being forced into certain options because you wanted some extra perks,
for your army and a highly restrictive ally system that can out right neuter factions in some cases can really kill any sort of creative idea you might have like let's say using Nighthaunt to help Ossiarch with dealing with spells and ranged units, since Banshees are a solid,
unit, and every Nighthaunt unit has Fly so you could very much bring along some Banshees, to deal with spells, Chainrasps to soak damage, and Hewraiths to hunt artillery along with Nighthaunt wizards for some extra spells (and the Nighthaunt Endless spells) in a large point #,
game, like Apoc levels of points, but you would need to be doing a team game since Ossiarch can't take any allies.

TLDR, Age of Sigmar's biggest issue is how restrictive some of it's rules are, when in comparison to 40k while 40k's rules have also gotten more restrictive, it,
still offers much more freedom of choice, but certain rules in 40k (namely allies and Psychic powers) need to be reverted to the rules from older editions.

I feel like I'm going to be catching some serious flak for this thread though, but I stand by what I've said, this is my,
hill and I intend to die on it if I must, since I believe there does need to be less restrictive rules when it comes to things like allies and sub factions (Hammer's of Sigmar, etc.), and a more free form magic system.
