I& #39;m not quite sure what changes we& #39;ll see to our values and lifestyles after all of this, but I really hope that we start to examine the strain of individual and national exceptionalism that modern life has, if not created, certainly amplified.
The last few weeks have shown us how interconnected and collective our experiences are. This idea that we& #39;re in this together shouldn& #39;t end when the pandemic does. We& #39;re always in it together.
This is very deep for this time of a Thursday morning, but my son woke at 6am and will only settle on my chest, so I& #39;m thinking that if he has to go his first few months not being squeezed by his grannies, then I hope it& #39;s worth it on the other side.
And it sucks because my son is incredibly squeezable and, if anything, has gotten cuter by the day.
After all that ruminating on how to leave a better world for my son, he repaid me by projectile shitting not once, but twice, across the bedroom.
