Mad Men & Color Identity: A Thread

Don Draper is mono-blue b/c Don Draper doesn't actually exist. He's an illusion, built by a clever, desperate man whose creativity defines/shields him. Don always seeks perfection in his lovers, family, work and himself, but never finds it. 1/
Betty Draper/Francis is WR. An inherently conflicted character, Betty fits the mold of the perfect trophy wife by suppressing her flaws, needs and passions. She is practical but romantic, intense yet idealistic. Her journey to self-acceptance is long and satisfying, yet tragic.2/
Joan Harris, neé Holloway, is RB. The perfect combination of heart and mind, Joan never compromises her ambition or her desire for love. A pragmatist, Joan never hesitates to make difficult decisions to further her own ends. Her political acumen and intuition are flawless. 3/
Peggy Olson is UR. Smart, creative and idealistic, Peggy evolves from a nervous secretary to one of the most sought after ad people of her time. She is a visionary whose sheer intelligence and passion drive her to even greater heights, all without compromising her identity. 4/
Pete Campbell is WB. Despite his infidelities and always pissing off coworkers, Pete always looks out for him/his people and making sure they succeed. Though not a creative like Don, his strengths lie in his connections and his (then) modern attitudes against sexism/racism. 5/
Roger Sterling is Mono-Red. Never a person to think of long-term solutions or strategies, Roger indulges his every desire whether it be fathering a love child with his former secretary, eating a crap ton of oysters for lunch, or tripping on acid. He's hilarious, amoral and fun.6/
Megan Draper, neé Calvert, is also UR but not in the same way Peggy is. Warm, talented and stylish, Megan captures Don's attention with her idealism, looks and passion. However, her lack of pragmatism ultimately becomes her downfall as her acting dreams dissolve into thin air. 7/
And that's it for now! I might continue this thread if anyone asks, but hopefully other Mad Men/Magic the Gathering fans have found this fun. :-)
