My thoughts on the Falcons and the Draft for next week, a thread:
I don't think they should trade up I'm the first round. This team can afford to trade down to 21 of 22. The Eagles AND the Vikings both need a wide receiver. The team can trade down and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd.

The NFL community doesn't seem to be really high on Antoine Winfield Jr. I for one think he's a monster at a position that's very crucial to the Seattle Cover 3, Single High scheme that DQ runs. I think that with Robert Quinn leaving Dallas, they're looking for an edge rusher.
After that, with the Dolphins being set at CB, I think they will pursue either OT to protect the QB, or DE to pair with Wilkins. The Raiders need a CB, not a safety after the Randall signing, and the Abrams pick last year. And finally, the Jags need to replenish their pass rush.
That leaves the Eagles at 21 as a potential trade partner, and the Vikings at 22 as another. I feel like the Eagles aren't the better partner, because along with WR, they also need to replenish at safety, but I think that Delpit or McKinney might be better fits in their system.
The Vikings don't need to replenish at safety as much as they need another receiver, edge rusher, and basically all new CBs. Moving up to 16 gives them a better chance at attacking any one of those holes.
As for the 47th pick, this is when I think the Falcons should start addressing the D-Line. In my potential trade down scenario, they should use the extra 2nd or 3rd to move up just enough to snag Gallimore, who might fall into the 40s, with the WR & CB classes so heavily stacked.
With the 78th pick in this scenario, they should target linebacker. If Willie Gay Jr is still there at this point, he could be great for the team.Even with Fowler as an occasional coverage player, they still need a 3rd linebacker for when they deploy the traditional 4-3 look.
With pick 119, the team should target a guard. I really like both Netane Muti out of Fresno State and Jonah Jackson out of Ohio State, and given that they're not considered great prospects by the NFL community, the chances of either of them dropping to here are great, and they...
...can both be really good players at the next level, who could shore up left guard or take over Center when Alex Mack leaves the team or retires. With pick 134, the team should focus on RB. I know some people think that CB is a 1st round need, so hear me out on why I don't:
The Falcons have been surprisingly good at developing CBs they take in later rounds or as UDFAs, excepting the Jalen Collins disaster. Sheffield showed some good promise at the end of last year, and Oliver finally started to settle in as well. I also liked what I saw from Miller.
I also trust the new defensive backs coaching staff with Joe Whitt Jr. Who has had a lot of success with young CBs in both Green Bay and Cleveland. With Morris being the DC, I think this young secondary has a lot of potential to develop into good starters for 2020. Pair that...
...with a potential game-changing free safety in Antoine Winfield Jr. as well as a hopefully finally healthy Keanu Neal to go along with Debo and an improving Foye Oluokon, and the Falcons could have a really good back end coverage unit. Remember, the 2017 defense, the only good
..one fielded so far in the DQ era was based off of good coverage ability, not a dominant pass rush.
Getting back now to RB, I think the Falcons should target a speedy RB who can also have a good role in the passing game. I haven't really studied the RB class this year, so I'd...

...love to hear which players could be available at this point in the draft!
With the final, 228th pick, the Falcons should target CB, finally. This is because even though they do have a good amount of youthful depth at CB, they could use one more player to bolster the group.

What do you think of this thread? I'd LOVE to hear what you have to say about this. I'm not an expert by any means, & these are just my opinions on what I think the Falcons should do. Enjoy!
