Far fetched idea it may seem today but @WhiteHouse will do well to do China on China by promoting Russia, India and Vietnam as an alternate to China....Europe cant survive without Chinese supply chain & u need an alternative.....encircling China can change the global order....

When @WhiteHouse of Nixon assigned Kissinger the task of devising its China policy, Kissinger was busy working on Soviets- Europe etc --much of his initial views of China owe to his tutoring by Stapleton Roy. With the benefit of hindsight; it wont be preposterous to claim that ..

.. Kissinger allowed his own exp & goals vis-à-vis Europe, Soviets & then evolving Cold war situation to color his China policy. So enamored, Kissinger was by ancient history of China that only flaw in Mao's model he could found, was its governance model...not a commie dictator!

It is not a secret as to how Kissinger's famous trip to meet Zhou-en-Lai on 9-7-71 was a result of painstaking "brokering" work of Yahya Khan & which Kissinger repaid when he famously said-"to all hands-don’t squeeze Yahya @ this time” upon being asked by Nixon abt 71 war stance!

It was that debt of Yahya Khan, accumulated by Kissinger between 1969 and 1971, that shaped up @StateDept romantic affair with Pakistan and its establishment...saving that for some other day....let us go back to the China plan that Kissinger helped devise of Nixon administration

Much of that China plan & its dev had a lot to do with Kissinger's world view of post Vietnam Asia....much differently to that of Nixon's in 1967 when he advocated a diff view-in Vietnam,he saw learning & suggested US to not look at the continent from one eyed view of Vietnam

~to isolate Taiwan
~to open China to development & investment; in return US was to get-
~help in exist from Vietnam
~reduce anti US hate in China

Kissinger's dishonesty gets evident every time he proclaims success of his policy by the fact how his policy helped US seed favorable view of American policy, within the minds of both Americans as well as Soviet public...….. his open embrace of China to achieve that objective...

Going back to where i started it from- Kissinger and how he let his own world view, get better of Nixon's and presided over the policy of embracing China in 1971- always played a role that was dubious & duplitcious by all means.....

After Nixon's departure; on his insistence, Gerard Ford continued with Kissinger as his Secretary of State....he left office after Carter's ascension to Presidency. He took up professor's role-which hasnt changed even today but now as personal professor of various world leaders

Principle of propriety are, for sure, an anathema to this much loved & equally hated advocate of realpolitik or suffice to say that he could hide his cunnigness smartly and gave it name realpolitiks or diplomacy....else what will u call formation of Kissinger Associates in 1982!

Kissinger Associates- formed in 1982 to advise international firms or strategic partners for investment opportunities & on gov relations, was primarily focussed on China. What is remarkable is the list of its prominent employees and the kind of influential role they played

Not just individuals but his firm's circle of influence included firms like APCO and Blackstone amongst the most prominent names..individuals like Eagleburger, Timothy Geithner, Paul Bremmer, Bill Richardson were its other prominent employees b4 n after their leading position

When Prez Bush senior wanted to send his reps to make his famous outreach to China after Tianneman massacre, the two men he chose- Brent Snowcraft (his NSA) & Lawrence Eagleburger (his deputy Sec of State) both were ex employees of Kissinger Associates only...
