Okay here goes

Consider those sitcoms that went on way too long.

They were incredible for years! Greatest show ever! Right? But their overlords force them to continue for additional seasons that made no sense. The story played out. It made no sense after season, 7. Got terrible
The show would have been better, with a stronger legacy and superior bow on the top had it lasted only 7 seasons. You know, if it had concluded when the time was right. If it had avoided the curse of forced longevity, it would have been legendary without any lingering awkwardness
Maybe.. Just Maybe.. Turnpike Troubadours had ended at the perfect time. Maybe they were supposed to end when they did. Maybe we avoided some weird shit that would have created an awkward landing, or a Michael Jordan with Charlotte type of ending.. Maybe it was.. Perfect?
Maybe Turkpike Troubadours, one of the greatest regional bands of all-time, found the perfect time and place to drop that curtain and call it. Maybe fate intervened, superceded the profit train, and blessed us with an introduction, a crescendo, and a end. Good God. Just maybe.
So maybe this is what I believe. Maybe I choose to believe that we did not see a tragic end, but a perfect end instead.

We saw the rise, the fall, and the legacy of artistic greatness. We can appreciate it forevermore with no regrets or hangups. And future generations; Inspired.
