im sad to admit it but bna really hasn't won me over yet... the promotional teaser has such a cool art style but the art in the show has been pretty standard trigger stuff, im uninvested in the lead, and they aren't really showing much of the world
im interested in the unique city because thats the cool fantasy part, and im interested in Shiro because he's cool and mysterious. Michiru hasn't given me a reason to really care yet, "im just a regular boring human and i want to go back to that" just isnt that compelling
episode one was good! i wish the next few eps just explored the city so we could get to know the world, how their culture works, what everyday life and its problems are, all that. it jumps into random bomb threats, but why would i care if i dont care about what they're blowing up
they introduce shiro weeping in the first episode and omg!!! thats super compelling!! why is this cool wolf man crying! it reels me in! but when generic protag michiru goes "yeah i just want to get away from the fun plot you've introduced" thats disappointing
contrast with ryuko, who is not only a very distinct character, but has such a strong forward motion in the plot from the start. that said, i've only watched 4 episodes and trigger plots ramp up DRAMATICALLY so i will hold off judgement
OK ALSO THIS IS JUST FURRY BIAS BUT GOD WHY DO THEY NOT JUST MAKE THEM FURRY BY DEFAULT??? THATS SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING. IF THEY HAVE TO BE ABLE TO TURN INTO HUMANS MAKE IT AS A WAY TO HIDE NOT LIVE NORMALLY OK THANK YOU
after i made this thread the next episode involved a lot of what i just described. good. if they would only include more visuals like the ones in the op/ed then i'd be very happy
