I wonder how many people are gonna play FF7R that is even more in your face about its message of ecoterrorist protagonists saving the world from the suited neoliberals destroying the planet and then just go back to yelling at leftists on Twitter.

Obviously the plot goes off into more fantastic elements after the Midgar segment ends, but it doesn't change the parallels between Shinra and real corporations or the message that the planet is being killed and needs to be saved. And those ideas didn't just come from nowhere.

And the Mako being Fossil Fuels analog is incredibly blatant but I might as well just put it into words directly for the sake of the mini-thread.
