Oh, and if you don't like being forced to only shop where the govt tells you to, you should talk to someone who's had to go to WINZ and get an emergency grant. They load an exact amount onto a card and tell you the exact place you can spend it and give you 48 hours to do it.

But! But! What if it's not the cheapest place to go? Or doesn't have the brand of whatever you like? Tough fucking shit. Doesn't matter that you're struggling and have to go literally beg the govt for money, once you get the money it'll still be a demoralising experience!

But what if you want to have a hobby and spend the tiniest amount of money on that hobby?

Haha oh no, don't be silly! You can't spend money on things which aren't food, rent or utilities! That's why you're poor, remember! Because you want to do things other than exist!
