We’ve all been there; the first time our current experience out distances our PME. That time where the vaunted Clausewitz is outstripped by a foe versed in current technology or tactics. (2/X)

I’m sorry that your personal experience is on Twitter, the most cruel, heartless, and sarcastic of platforms (outside those who shall not be named). (3/X)

But consider that you’re dodging verbal spears, not literal. I’m sorry you’re taking those spears because you are applying education to a problem beyond such education. It’s not your fault, man. Hopefully, no one will die because your education didn’t prepare you for this. (4/X)

I do hope you learn from this. I hope you learn that not everyone understands. Not everyone is automatically on your side, you’ll have to sway them. It’s a painful lesson but in the future you’re arguments will be so strong, they save lives. (5/X)

I hope you learn that while social media allows you to directly engage higher leadership, sometimes it’s good to be a lurker. Sometimes that’s the best COA until the dust settles. Take it from someone who’s observed that fight time & again, still learning from it. (6/X)
