Okay, I'm going in on live-tweeting #BloodSugarPBS. I will do my best to be fair.
"Exciting new progress in drugs and technology that makes the disease more manageable." But, few can afford. #DSMA
So, how much is @kellyclose getting in consulting fees for this? How much consulting revenue will she get in the future by having her platform elevated like this?

I hope as things get more "controversial" (assuming they will), the conflict of interest disclosures will start.
Oooh, I love hearing about how fungus loves to hang on our feet because of the sugar on our skin. This isn't fuel for the keto folks or anything.
This woman, Nicole, is on now and I stan. I'm glad she took down the "do you have the worst kind of diabetes?" bullshit by reminding us that people with all kinds of diabetes have complications. There's no easy journey with this disease. #DSMA #BloodSugarPBS
Hold up, I'm now referring to myself as having "The Pissing Evil."

Our new language matters community discourse:
I'm a pissing evil bitch/bro/lady/sir vs. I'm a person with the pissing evil.

#BloodsugarPBS
It's unfortunate when so many of us went through what Nicole did with not having the capacity to manage diabetes - either through mental health or access issues. Some of us are damn lucky right now and we need to remember that our good health is a privilege.
Can people for once acknowledge that you only manage diabetes well if you come from a place of privilege? I don't give a shit about diabetic actors or race car drivers. The people who have this idea that we can do anything with this disease need to face reality.
They were doing an okay job explaining how Type 2 is caused and now we have the montage of serving greasy food and a monologue on how food is so crucial to our social engagements.

IT'S MORE COMPLICATED THAN THIS.
THANK YOU SIR for pointing out how no one else gets blamed for their diseases and that we need to stop victim shaming.
People with all types of diabetes need to stand in solidarity with each other instead of trying to differentiate themselves. We all have shitty pancreases. A lot of us need insulin. We have more in common and we go farther with the public being one force. #DSMA #BloodsugarPBS
Protein and fat also break down into glucose!!!!!!!! OUR BODIES NEED INSULIN EVEN IF WE DONT EAT A SINGLE DAMN CARB IN OUR LIVES.
CHIA SEED PUDDING BREAKS DOWN INTO GLUCOSE.
Me: how long is this?
Josh: *pulls up tv guide*
Me: oh god, it's 2 hours?

Also, bless Josh because I gave him 5 minute advanced warning that I wanted to watch this and he quit Final Fantasy.
Trying to find more information on how to donate to the Garden of Happiness. I may try through here. Let me know if you know of a better venue for donating!

Let's strike the phrase "they let themselves go" from our vocabulary. Thank you.

#DSMA #BloodSugarPBS
"David, we need to check on the bloodsugar situation." Flashback to childhood and I instinctively groaned. 😛
Trying not to judge, because great incredible dad here but if your first instinct is to build a bionic pancreas instead of helping your child be self sufficient before college...

Every single thing you do as a parent is a skill or technique that can be learned.
Disgusting to put Kelly Close on to explain insulin access after Nicole.

How much money is she getting from the insulin manufacturers funding her livelihood? Tell us about diaTribe & dQ&A.

Where was she and her friends before those of us on the grassroots made this an issue?
Talking about Alec also reminds me of how much information exists only in the diabetes online community bubble. There was so much I didn't know before I joined.

I spent the 00s being turned off by the popular DOC bloggers thinking someone poor with a crappy A1C didn't belong.
If @statnews can disclose conflicts, PBS can disclose. Also, diatribe is literally just a shield to hide from the dq&a consulting revenue. #BloodsugarRisingPBS
Are we sure these children have Type 2 diabetes?
"The healthcare system hasn't made it easy for him."

Personal choices are easier than dismantling structural violence. Both need to happen.
Nothing like going from Monteil, who is facing health care insecurity to USING HIM IN A LEDE to talk about all the new technology available (but not actually available to most people with diabetes). #BloodSugarPBS #DSMA
Let's applaud the technology but we are doing a huge disservice to people with diabetes by marketing and publicizing technology without talking about how few people actually use it. #DSMA #BloodSugarPBS
Alex being nervous about the inserter and needles was all of us at one point in time. I hope he, and the rest of us, will get to live in a future where needles are the worst violence we are subjected to.
Our society fails too many of us.

We don't need to fight a war against diabetes, we need to fight a war against a system that enables diabetes and then throws too many of us to the curb with no guarantee to health care access, housing or food. #DSMA #BloodsugarPBS
A lot of good cameos right now. Way to go, #Insulin4All #BloodsugarPBS.

Forever grateful to @NSmithholt12 & her family for making this issue so well publicly known. Too many of us, myself included, have lost someone to insulin rationing.
"We are living a world that is perfect for making diabetes flourish." Amen.

The system needs to be dismantled before we will see happier, better outcomes with diabetes. We are not well unless we are all well.

Get radical. #BloodsugarPBS
And, that's a wrap.

Ultimately, I thought they did a great job and it was well balanced.

The patients and caregivers they featured are incredible role models for the next generation of people with diabetes.
