Also, the way Peter has anxiety in the Spider-Man suit is awesome to see. He went from confident in that suit from civil war-endgame to just not being able to trust himself. I like that

Another thing amazing about this scene is all the pressure put on him if he’s the next best hero, what will HE do if aliens come back

He’s a 16 year old kid getting these kinda questions. That’s too much pressure on a kid dealing with so much

One thing I always disliked about this movie is the forced comedy. It doesn’t ruin it for me but it’s just so unnecessary

This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie tbh. Look how Beck immediately gives Peter confidence. Instead of “go away kid” he tells him what to do giving him that confidence. This is just step 1 of many in how Mysterio can manipulate the fuck outta peter and I love it

It gives Peter that boost to trust in him to finally give him the glasses. Peter is a 16 year old dealing with high anxiety, pressure from the world to be the next goat and Mysterio plays with his head so well. So damn well

Step 2 in messing with Peter’s head. “Don’t apologize for being the smartest one in the room”

Step 3 is making Peter believe Mysterio is fighting to avenge his “family” he lost. Something Peter knows about a lot. His parents, Ben, Tony. Of course, Mysterio only knows about Tony

Peter giving Beck everything rn. “If my classmates see me, after what happened in DC, they’ll know who I am and the whole world will know and I’m done”

Mysterio listens, Peter.

Step 4. Mysterio relating to Peter. “You kidnapped him” meaning Mysterio ain’t cool with that
Step 5. “My name is Mysterio” a name he gave him giving Peter someone he can talk to comfortably

Here’s Fury tearing down Peter’s confidence about the glasses. And rightly so

Step 6. Talking to Peter after what Fury said. Trying to build Peter’s confidence back up and gaining his trust in him. “You’re not a jerk for wanting a normal life”

Damn Mysterio was giving Peter a real good talk.

Peter wanting a normal life and wanting to be with MJ, but he can’t. He got a responsibility. His look back at the opera is perfect

Also another thing I’ve noticed, Peter sticks up to Fury a lot. Maybe not like how he does it in the ultimate comics, but he still does it

This fight with molten man is phenomenal

Step 7. SACRIFICING HIMSELF just like Tony did. Giving Peter more trust in him. Making Peter believe Beck DOES deserve the glasses

I don’t see how Mysterio’s plan was bad according to some. It’s absolutely incredible. These are why I give him a top spot in terms of villains

Mysterio was giving Peter a fucking lesson in this bar. You’re not responsible with those glasses. Lemme wear them. Oh wait, my look is based off tony. I just sacrificed myself. I deserve these glasses

Step 8. This whole bar scene

and now, we see how much of an ego-maniac Mysterio is. He just wants attention. The whole “that makes no sense ever since the accords were put in place”

How? This is YEARS after. Like 7 years and the avengers SAVED the world. No one gives a fuck about that anymore

One thing I’d change about that bar scene. Have Peter ask Beck about his family. Beck tells him he could’ve stopped it but didn’t. Peter tells him that’s happened to him with his Uncle Ben. Illusion scene. Have Tony and Ben’s grave side by side.
