Look how well these stocks are doing in a pandemic that has caused mass unemployment and is bankrupting practices and hospitals

Then ask yourself this question: What service do they provide that enables them to be doing this well?
The answer?

There business model does great when they don’t provide care.

They are an investment company. Your premiums are collected and invested; that’s how they make money.

And, emergency relief laws are a boon to them by focusing funding for COBRA for the newly unemployed
This is a disgrace

Every single person/company involved in providing care is hurting right now: patients, care providers, practices, and hospitals

The only one doing well is the leech that has inserted itself between patient and doctor

The insurance model should be incinerated
Actually, I have under-sold what is likely their biggest profit generator: the management (read: denial of) care

Their business model thrives on their ability to make it hard for you to use the insurance you pay for, or to disincentivize you from using it via high deductibles
Normally, this is accomplished via labyrinthine pre-approvals and blanket denials.

Now, all elective and non-urgent care is being postponed. But, they still collect premiums.

$$Cha-ching$$
Their newest scam involves managed Medicare and Medicaid (M and M)

You know those anti-big government conservatives? Well, they have decided that state/federal run insurance is bad. So, they take your tax dollars, and give them to insurance companies to manage M and M
How does one manage M and M? You got it, by reducing services!

They get a capitated fee, meaning they get prepaid X dollars per patient. Whatever they don't spend, they keep.

YOUR GOVT PAYS IMMENSE CORPORATIONS GOBS OF MONEY TO AVOID PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTH CARE!
If you look at how profitable these corporations have become over the last few years, thank managed Medicare and Medicaid for giving your tax dollars away to the greediest SOBs on the planet
