So, recently saw a thread where women were saying they'd rather use the men's than be in a bathroom with a transwoman... because men are just going to pee and transwomen are in a bathroom for "other reasons"...

I'm sorry, but if that's what you believe...

You've spent WAY too much time on twitter.

Certainly, there are thousands of "trans identified" people who act in rather fetishistic ways, hold derogatory stereotypes, etc.

But even when you go on the places where these people hang out, you only find a few thousand of them

Lets look at some numbers here.

Before all this really kicked off, estimates of trans people tended to be between 0.3% to 0.15% of the general population.

Just to make this as scary as possible... I'm going to use 0.15%.

This'll put the amount of trans people as low as possible, making those few thousand into a bigger percentage of the community.

The US alone has a population of 328+ million people... at 0.15%... that equates to almost 500,000 trans people. At 0.3%, that would be a million

The people you focus on, the people you act like are representatives of that 500,000+ people... are literally a fraction of a percent within a fraction of a percent of people.

It is simply not fair or realistic to act like this is even slightly representative of reality.

Are there issues with current policies? Of course

Are there issues within the trans community? Of course

Are there issues with the ideology? Of course

But it serves the discussion not at all to act like the exceptions to the rule are the rule. It makes you dismissible

The plain reality of the matter is, the VAST majority are really just needing to pee.

And I wont defend politicians making laws and saying women cannot have the right to police their own spaces. I don't think women have to accept transwomen as women.

But it wont help your cause in the slightest to feed into bigoted stereotypes that cannot be validated by reality.

It simply makes it easy to downplay your concerns.

You're just helping make the other side look less extreme when you play into their portrayal of your side.
