Rappers and basketball players compared, a thread:

Kendrick Lamar = Michael Jordan (kdot is my fav FYI)
MJ was 6-0 in the finals. Imo K-dot has no album below a 7 and he has at least two 10/10s. People will say “he still needs to release more classics before he can be the goat”

He will release more classics. Have some faith. MJ only played 13 years. (Meaning quality > quantity) He also won 3 titles then retired. Then came back and won another 3. Kendrick dropped, GKMC, TPAB, and DAMN. it’s been 3 years since his last album.. see the connection?

Eminem = Lebron. Please hear me out before you hate on Eminem. Lebron is undeniably an all time great. Holds tons of records, crazy longevity, insane impact, one of the most skilled ever. But in the end he still has a 3-6 record in the finals.

Eminem has the longevity, he’s got classic albums, he’s unique & talented. Same w Lebron. But in the end his discog. as a whole is far from perfect. He’s made too much music and has disappointing albums. Both are still top 5 ever but have the 3-6 record to stain their careers

Jay Z = Kareem Abdul-Jabar. If you’re not a NBA fan you’re probably asking “who?” Kareem won 6 titles (as many as MJ) and 6 MVPS (the most ever) he’s the all time scoring leader and played for 20 years. He’s without a doubt a top 10 ever.

Yet for some reason Kareem is over looked (People don’t over look Jay z the same way tho). Just like Kareem, Jay has been great for 20+ years and always seems to win. Nobody really hates Jay Z (that I know of) and Kareem is equally respected.

Kanye West = Kobe Bryant. First off RIP KOBE. But I think this comparison is perfect. Kobe has so many stans who defend him as the GOAT. So does Kanye. And kobe has a great argument for the goat title. 5 titles, one MVP, top 10 in all time scoring, HOFer, etc.

Kanye also has a very strong goat argument. He’s dropped projects like MBDTF, CD and LR which are all classics. He’s shown his versatility with projects like Yeezus, and 80s. But sometimes his risks haven’t paid off. Such as JIK.

Kobe’s risks didn’t always pay off either. He couldn’t keep things together with Shaq and although he still won 2 more titles it probably cost him a few titles in the end.
