Alright here's the 41/5 homelessness #COVID19 thread:

* SF has secured 2151 hotel rooms in 14 hotels
* About half of rooms (1271) for homeless, SRO. The rest for first responders.
* 874 individuals have been moved into those rooms, mostly from shelters /1 https://twitter.com/LondonBreed/status/1250501801742233600
*The City has completed the process of getting those who are in shelter + identified as vulnerable ( 60+ or w/ underlying medical conditions) into hotel rooms. Still ~1500 in shelter.

*They will work on getting unsheltered homeless ppl into hotels next w/ a "small pilot" /2
HSA Dir. Trent Rhorer still says the estimated hotel room need (for EVERYONE - first responders, SRO, and homeless) is 7K.

SF has a 9K homeless population. And Rhorer said today 81 hotels have offered 12,000 rooms. /3
Reporter asks if Breed will carry out yesterday's BOS hotel emergency ordinance.

The answer is clearly no - though she doesn't say it outright, saying the city must do things based in "reality." "If it were that easy, we would have done it a long time ago." 🤔🤔🤔 /4
And for the COVID numbers:

*Overall: 1113 + cases, 17 deaths, 53 awaiting test results
*MSC South Shelter: 102 + cases (92 guests, 10 staff)
* Laguna Honda: 18 cases, 14 among staff, 4 residents. All residents are in good condition
