There have been far more applications for the $1500 grants than it is possible for the fund to pay out. Please remember the #WritersReliefFund was originally compiled from emergency reserves of two small not-for-profits, @twuc and @writerstrust plus a donation from @RBC 😊
The #WritersReliefFund then grew with the @AccessCopyright Foundation’s addition of $100,000, plus about $20,000 in private donations. Thank you all! 🎊

But there is still more demand than there are funds. 😔 So, the results are decided by lottery in multiple rounds.
Each round contains 60 recipients. If you apply & do not receive money in the first round, your application remains in the pool for subsequent rounds.

We are working hard to respond with speed to this economic emergency 🚨— with limited resources and no access to our offices.
#CERB applicants can have made up to $1000 in income in a given month and still be eligible to apply. We are working with #WritersReliefFund recipients who wish to also apply to CERB to help them maintain eligibility. If you need to, please do apply.

My colleagues and I continue to seek out new partners and donors, large and small for the #WritersReliefFund. We’re committed to helping as many writers and published visual artists (thanks to the @accesscopyright Foundation!) as we can.
And finally, thanks to all my colleagues @twuc, @writerstrust, @accesscopyright, the Access Copyright Foundation, and @RBC. Amazing work at an incredibly trying time for us all. 🎺 🎶
