My parents used to make me go to porn therapy group called Sons of Helaman (a very Mormon therapy program) It always killed me because when one of the boys would be talking about one of his “battles” he would say that he just told satan to “get the fuck away from me”
I would always roll my eyes and the reason I mention it, is because I hate the concept that we’re required to hate satan and that it’s good tactic for getting rid of him. Like you’re really gunna fight the literal embodiment of hatred..... with hatred.
I wrote a paper on this and my religion professor told me I was wrong but I don’t think so for a couple of reasons. Lucifer was our brother and there was a literal war because so many people loved him and believed in him. The heavens literally wept for him.
I don’t think you should call him up and be his best friend, but recognize that he is also a child of god that is lost.
I think that if you believe in the presence of satan or his followers (and you ask them to leave) it’s 10x more effective to say or think, “I feel your presence and I love you, you’re causing me discomfort and I would ask that you leave, find and go towards the light.”
Saying you hate him only invites him more, the Holy Ghost does not exist in hatred. Thanks for coming to my ted talk
