Coronavirus vs Brexit some thoughts.

A short thread

/1
This account (and later campaign) was started in Dec 17 out of anger about the fact the path the U.K. was going down a negative path that was built on lies and the govt were being incompetent in failing to properly assess the risks and trade offs of their brexit approach. /2
I got to the point if needed to feel I had to do something and I therefore ran with the idea of giving voice to those who regretted their votes in 2016 in order to use them as powerful advocates to get the govt to change course and later to push for a #FinalSay #PeoplesVote
/3
I spent hours each day working on the #RemainerNow cause because I feared for the huge damage brexit will do you the country, that it will limit my kids opportunities and would harm the most vulnerable in society the most. I wanted to help stop it or at least limit the damage. /4
But I was also driven by a desire to not get those who had lied and then been negligent in the handling of the brexit process get away with it.

Firstly, coronavirus is different in that the fact this pandemic is here is not the fault of our U.K. politicians lying for party../5
Political or ideological reasons to win a vote. Secondly, the effects from coronavirus are obviously more serious than any brexit fall out. I personally know people who have sadly passed away before their time and many who will take a long long time to recover economically./6
But like with brexit, i find myself once again witnessing the govt making bad decisions that make a bad situation worse. Much of me wants to try and pull together at the time of national crisis, and in many ways we must do that, but that does not mean we let the govt get away../7
..With incompetence and bad decisions that have cost so many lives. So whilst this account will one day return to its original purpose and brexit focus, I make no apologies for using the reach I have to share evidence of govt failings as we must hold this government to account /8
