For some reason, I’m seeing panic about the sun dying in 5 billion years and I’m here to tell you, there’s no need to worry about that! All life will be gone long before then.

Here’s a little thread for y’all
The End of the Carbon Cycle

As the sun brightens in the next 600 million years, the increasing temperatures will cause massive weathering events and will effectively remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This will kill off most plant life.
This is also the final time a solar eclipse will occur on Earth
End of the Ozone

With the depletion of carbon dioxide and the extinction of most plants, oxygen production slows (this is at around 800 million years) and the Ozone disappears entirely. This is where it gets fun!
Now, without plants, comes the extinction of animal life. No plants means no oxygen. Large mammals become extinct, followed by all other land life, ocean vertebrae, and finally inverts. The last remaining life resides underground or at the poles.
End of Photsythesis

At around 900 million years, plants that utilize a secondary form of photosynthesis (C4) have gone extinct, and now the only remaining life is single called organisms
The Telikozic Eon -Final Life

All complex life is gone. Single cell organisms remain for another 3 million years
The End of a Living Earth

1.2 billion years. All recognizable features, sounds, and sights are gone. The oceans have evaporated and the tectonic cycle has ended. Earth is a barren waste
For about a billion years, any remaining life would have been prokaryotes in pools at the north and south poles.

At around 3 billion years from now, the Nekrozoic Eon begins, and all life is extinct.
From here, the core cools, the atmosphere is being stripped away, our rotation becomes chaotic as the moon moves further away. This is when the sun begins to grow
End thread! I’d like to thank historical and physical geology, planetary simulations, and the evidences of Mars and Venus showing us that Paradise can become Hell in a short time
Also feel free to correct me on anything (include sources too I wanna read) and fix grammar LOL
